Hailed by The New York Times as a pianist of “a fiery sensibility and warm touch,” ANNA SHELEST has performed with the Montreal Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony under Paavo Järvi, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and Estonian National Symphony, among others. As a soloist she has appeared at Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., Wiener Konzerhaus in Vienna, and Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Anna’s Sorel Classics CDs include an ongoing collaboration with conductor Neeme Järvi recording the complete works for piano and orchestra by Anton Rubinstein. The inaugural CD with The Orchestra Now (TON), featuring the Concerto No. 4 and Caprice Russe, was recorded live at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theater and praised by Gramophone magazine for “…power and agility… effortless effect… nuanced and incisive all round.” Anna’s 2019 solo release, Donna Voce, surveys music by women composers from the last three centuries.
