DIANA ZIABCHENKO was born in 1996 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine. She showed an aptitude for the arts from an early age and began vocal training at the age of 5. She graduated from the Vyshenka Children’s Art School, during which time she won several national children’s competitions.
From 2011 to 2015, she studied academic singing at the Leontovych College of Culture and Arts in Vinnytsia, where she collaborated with the jazz orchestra "Vin-band.”
From 2015 to 2021, she studied opera singing at the National Music Academy of Ukraine, earning both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees under the tutelage of Professor Oleksandr Dyachenko, the National Artist of Ukraine. From 2021 to 2022, she completed an assistantship under Professor Oleksandr Dyachenko at the National Music Academy of Ukraine.
Diana debuted on the stage of the Opera Studio at the National Music Academy of Ukraine in 2017 and has since performed roles including Maddalena (Rigoletto), Clarice (La pietra del paragone), Mother (Kateryna), Lyubasha (The Tsar’s Bride), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Tsvirkun (Nocturne), and Miss Todd (The Old Maid and the Thief).
Diana has been a laureate of various national and international competitions, including the Petrusenko National Vocalists Competition named (Kherson, Ukraine), the Rubini International Opera Singers Competition (Romano di Lombardia, Italy), the Alida Vane International Singers Competition (Ventspils,Latvia), and the International Competition in memory of Muslim Magomayev. She has participated in numerous masterclasses with renowned figures in the opera genre, including: Della Jones (mezzo-soprano, Royal Opera, London), Elio Orciuolo (opera conductor, Italy), and Marcello Lippi (opera singer, Italy).
Since 2021, she has been collaborating with the Opera Aperta modern opera laboratory, led by Roman Grygoriv and Illia Razumeiko, performing as a soloist in various operas. She debuted as Alma in the opera Opera Lingua (November 2021) at the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. In the role of Daphne in the opera ,Chornobyldorf she performed at several international festivals, including Prototype Festival (New York, USA, January 2024), Theater der Welt (Frankfurt, Germany, July 2023), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK, November 2022), Euro Fest (Liverpool, UK, May 2023), O. Festival for Opera (Rotterdam, Netherlands, May 2022), Opereomanija (Vilnius, Lithuania, October 2022), Musiktheatertage (Vienna, Austria, September 2022), and Komedie Rokokoabc Mestska Divadla Prazska (Prague, Czech Republic, March 2024). She was a soloist in the 2022 opera Genesis at the Khanenko National Museum of Art in Kyiv. She was also a guest soloist at the Summer Festival “Civitanova all’Opera” in Italy in May 2022.
Diana performed at the XXXIII International Festival Kyiv Music Fest 2022, premiering Zoltan Almashi’s work Fantasy for mezzo-Soprano and cello on the poetry of Viktor Rekalo, and she has developed several solo projects for the Khanenko Museum and the National Reserve “Sofia Kyivska” in Kyiv. Diana also performed at the Gulf Stream Festival, presenting a concert of music by Zoltan Almashi, including his canatata for mezzo-soprano, piano and saxophone “From the green thoughts of one fox.”
In April 2024, she was invited to headline the concert “Les nuits électriques” at the Sorbonne University in Paris as part of the conference “The Ukrainian Musical Avant-garden: from 1910 to the Present.”
She currently works as a cultural manager at the F. Shpiga Charitable Foundation.
