UCMF/Razom for Ukraine Fundraiser

Friends of Ukraine,

The Ukrainian Contemporary Music Festival is proud to have been sponsored and co-organized since its inception by the Ukrainian Institute, a public institution affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine whose mission is to strengthen Ukraine's international standing through the means of cultural diplomacy and create opportunities for Ukraine to interact and cooperate with the world.

It is an integral part of who we are that we are partners with the Ukrainian Institute and aligned with their goal of supporting a contemporary narrative of Ukraine.

Unfortunately, the Ukrainian Institute was forced to reallocate the funds it had set aside for UCMF after Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

While the war effort is of paramount importance, it is also imperative that Ukrainian culture does not disappear. It is the lie that Ukraine has no culture of its own that forms the basis of Vladimir Putin’s claim that Ukraine is not a real country, a lie that has put millions of people in grave danger.

UCMF 2022 will take place on March 18th, 19th, and 20th despite the current challenges, showcasing Ukrainian artists and music in a time when these matter most. But we need your help.

Contributing to this fundraiser will 1. Help ensure the visibility of Ukrainian artists; and 2. Contribute to Ukraine’s heroic defense against Russian invasion.

Half of the proceeds will be donated to Razom for Ukraine’s Emergency Response with the other half covering the costs of festival venues, staff, and musician compensation.

Help us protect Ukraine and its music.
