LAURA BARGER is a musician devoted to making sonic art, not only via her training as a classical pianist but also through her interests in improvisation and expanding her overall performative range. Laura is a founding member of Yarn/Wire (piano/keyboards), which since 2005 has given her the opportunity to collaborate on the international stage with a long list of the world’s leading composers, sound artists, and creative musicians. She has appeared as a guest artist with a number of leading contemporary music groups, such as Wet Ink, International Contemporary Ensemble, Talea Ensemble, San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and many others. Laura recently appeared alongside composer Annea Lockwood, a close collaborator, in Sam Green’s immersive documentary film 32 Sounds.
