LENA SIEROVA was born in Kyiv in 1983. In 2007, she graduated from the Faculty of Composition, and in 2010, she completed an assistantship-internship in the Department of Composition, Instrumentation, and Music Information Technologies at the P.I. Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine (composition class of Hanna Havrylets). She was a participant in the “Gaude Polonia” Scholarship Program of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland (2009), through which she studied composition at the Krakow Academy of Music under Prof. Zbigniew Bujarski.

Since 2006, Sierova has been actively engaged in musical and public activities. She served as the Art Manager of the International Youth Festival of Contemporary Music, “Music Marine Fest” (Odesa, Ukraine, 2006–2007). Starting in 2009, she became a member of the organizing committee for the International Youth Music Forum and directed the forum in 2016. Sierova joined the National Union of Composers of Ukraine in 2011 and was awarded the L.M. Revutsky Prize in 2013. In 2020, she served as a jury member for a composers’ competition and curated the First Ukrainian Music-Theater Residency, “Skhid Opera,” as part of the Youth Music Hub at the Kharkiv State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after Mykola Lysenko.

Sierova is also engaged in academic research in the field of art studies. In 2015, she earned a PhD in Art Criticism. She has published several scientific works on contemporary classical and pop music.

Since 2012, Sierova has served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Academic and Pop Vocals and Sound Engineering at the National Academy of Culture and Arts Management in Kyiv. From 2023 to 2024, she was the Head of the Music Production and Sound Engineering Department. Since 2023, she has also been the creator and Quality Assurance Coordinator of the educational program “Music Production”, which is implemented at the National Academy of Culture and Arts Management.

Sierova is actively engaged in her creative work as a composer. She has numerous performances in Ukraine and abroad. Her music has been performed in concert halls across Ukraine, the USA, Germany, France, Switzerland, Poland, Austria, England, Chile, and Japan. She is a regular participant in Ukrainian new music festivals and contemporary music projects.
