VLADYSLAV DOVHAN is a Ukrainian saxophone player and conductor, performing and conducting a broad range of repertoire with a high level of technique and musical understanding. He is an experienced saxophone instructor and the founder of an online music school.
Vladyslav holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees with distinction from the Lviv National Academy of Music named after Mykola Lysenko, one of Ukraine’s premiere music conservatories. A winner of several international competitions, he has performed with multiple prestigious orchestras and bands in Ukraine, including the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, the INSO-Lviv National Philharmonic, and the Lviv Jazz Orchestra. He participated in the international saxophone festival “Andorra Sax Fest” in 2021 and collaborated with prominent saxophonists such as Vincent David, Mariano Garcia, Nacho Gascón, Lars Mlekusch, and others.
Vladyslav is currently enrolled in the Master of Music program at the New England Conservatory (NEC) on a full merit scholarship. He is the recipient of the Friedlander Family Presidential Scholarship Award (2022), and the Boston Woodwind Society’s Saxophone Merit Award (2022).
Continuing his prolific performance schedule in Ukraine and on European tours over the last several years, Vladyslav currently performs with multiple ensembles at the NEC as a soloist. These include NEC Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds, Jazz Composers Workshop Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra, Jewish Music Ensemble, and Mande West African Music Ensemble.
